Proper site preparation is the foundation of a successful barrier gate installation. The concrete base must be level and fully cured. We recommend a minimum concrete pad size of 500x500x500mm to ensure stability. Ensure that PVC conduits for power and communication lines are correctly positioned in the center of the base before pouring the concrete.
Electrical safety is paramount. Always use dedicated conduits to separate high-voltage AC power lines from low-voltage DC communication lines (such as RS485 or relay signals). Mixing them can cause electromagnetic interference. Ensure the chassis is properly grounded to prevent electrical shocks and protect the control board from lightning surges.
A perfectly balanced boom arm significantly extends the lifespan of the motor and gear mechanism. The tension of the balancing spring must match the weight and length of the arm. To test the balance: manually lift the arm to a 45-degree angle. If it stays in place without falling or rising, the spring tension is perfectly adjusted. If it falls, tighten the spring; if it rises, loosen it.
To achieve a high Mean Cycles Between Failures (MCBF), follow this monthly maintenance checklist:
Issue: The arm does not close automatically.
Solution: Check the loop detector or photocell sensor. If the sensor is blocked or the loop is stuck in a 'detect' state, the gate will remain open for safety.
Issue: The motor hums but the arm doesn't move.
Solution: For AC motors, check the starting capacitor. For DC brushless motors, check the power supply voltage and the control board error codes.
