Yes. The control board provides a dry-contact open input, loop detector inputs and optional Wiegand, RS-485 or TCP/IP communication, so ticketing, RFID, ANPR/LPR and payment kiosks can trigger the lane.
Measure the clear opening and add 30–50 cm of overlap on each side: a 3.5 m opening takes roughly a 4 m arm. Above about 6 m you are into double-arm or fence-boom territory, which also needs a heavier duty operator.
